Cammy- you are right, it is a shame that nobody wears them anymore. I will keep wearing mine with pride though!RHAMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08292662958722009147noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8452890445510196669.post-9206409294932819202008-03-25T15:58:00.000-05:002008-03-25T15:58:00.000-05:00I wore a hat to Easter mass. I made it to go with a black linen shirtwaist dress with a very transition-to-the-50's-but-in-the-40's look to it.

The hat is one of those ones that looks like a very wide, stiff headband. It's also black. I made Schiaparelli Pink roses out of wide grosgrain ribbon and then made green leaves out of felt with machine embroidered veins on them.

The flowers up the right side of the hat and stop just before the center. And, it has a Little Black Veil. My shoes were of the same hot pink color.

I love my hat! I wish other people would also wear hats to Easter services. It feels so festive a joyful to have one on. You know you At An Occasion in a fancy hat.anthrok8https://www.blogger.com/profile/01046594052371607048noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8452890445510196669.post-34530514851233588272008-03-25T11:31:00.000-05:002008-03-25T11:31:00.000-05:00Hello! I just came over from Jill's blog and wanted to say how much I enjoyed what you wrote here....yes, I think something must be done so the women will don those hats next year....but why wait till next Easter? Why not wear a hat to church at least once a month....after all, they need to practice...then they'll find out how great it makes them feel (like I did this Sunday for the first time since I was a youngster..back when hats and gloves were move common).

Oh, and I like "that thing on your head." It looks great on you.Sara at Come Away With Mehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07677354270954094291noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8452890445510196669.post-79975632705241472232008-03-24T17:48:00.000-05:002008-03-24T17:48:00.000-05:00I wear a hat to church every Sunday, and a hat mos...I wear a hat to church every Sunday, and a hat most days to work (a little less in the summer than the winter). And I am inevitably showered with attention and praise for it.

I don't know why in the world a woman would avoid wearing hats. Older folks love them, priests and other clergy love them, little girls love them, gay men really love them, and they all fawn over me when I wear mine.

You can't buy that kind of boost to your self esteem. %\:-)PhantomMinuethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16569580986314165225noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8452890445510196669.post-45931907811507791982008-03-24T17:34:00.000-05:002008-03-24T17:34:00.000-05:00I thought my church was bad! Several people commented on my hat, and lamented that people don't wear them any more. I wanted to say, "Why don't you wear one?!!" but I just smiled.

Keep wearing your hats, and keep smiling!Cammyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10521646006012971234noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8452890445510196669.post-78050022460066049472008-03-24T13:55:00.000-05:002008-03-24T13:55:00.000-05:00Love your hat and your rant!I'm hosting a virtual ...Love your hat and your rant!

I'm hosting a virtual Easter bonnet parade on my blog today.
